Welcome to Year 3!
In Year 3, there are two classes: 3R and 3H.
Our adults in 3H are Mrs Round and Mrs Greaves and in 3H, our adults are Ms Hare and Mr Haden.
This term, our school topic is ‘This is me’ followed by ‘My Place, My Time’.
As writers, we are writing a character description based upon the text of ‘Can you build another me?’
As readers, we will be exploring a variety of texts including ‘The Squirrels that Squabbled’, by Rachel Bright.
In mathematics lessons, we will be reactivating and developing our knowledge of place value (hundred, tens and ones) and where numbers sit in the number system.
During art lessons, we will be experimenting with different pencil grades to create a self-portrait in the style of Fried Kahlo.
As Scientists, we will learn about the parts of plants and how they reproduce and create food.
During DT lessons, we will be learning about eating healthy and creating a healthy soup using seasonal ingredients.
When exercising in PE lessons, we will be learning the skills of dancing and teamwork in football.
