Welcome to our Year 4 page! Here you will find information about the amazing things we will be learning about in class. We have two classes in Year 4, the adults are Miss Middleton, Mrs Huston, Miss Hodgetts, Miss Regan, Miss Cartwright and Miss Huber.
As we are the oldest children at The Orchards, we have lots of responsibilities in school these are: Head Girl, Head Boy, Head of School Council, Play Leaders, Sports Crew and Wellbeing Ambassadors.

Writing
In class, we are using the book ‘Little Mouse’s Big Book of Fears.’ We write a dictation sentence at the beginning of each lesson and children will be using their descriptive writing to write all about fears.
Maths
In maths, we are looking at place value.
In Year 4, we work really hard towards learning all of our times tables for our end of year ‘Multiplication Check’. Here are some useful links:

Foundation subjects
In science we will be learning about the digestive system.
During our art lessons, we will exploring our sketching skills in drawing, looking at shading and hatching.
In RE we will be looking at Hinduism in Britain.
Our French lessons will develop our vocabulary to help describes portraits.
In PSHE, we are learning about health and wellbeing and our changing bodies.
In our computing sessions, we will be looking at staying safe online and computer networks.
During PE, we will be doing football and dance.
