Welcome to Year 2! We have one year 2 class, 2H and they are taught by Mrs Houghton, Miss Danks and Miss Holdom.
In Year 2, we love learning and discovering new things. During our day, we enjoy sharing stories, working as a team and exploring and expanding our learning.
As the oldest children in KS1, we know how important it is to model good behaviour to all.
In English, we will be exploring Silly Billy by Anthony Browne and the traditional tale, Little Red Riding Hood. We will be developing our sentences and adding adjectives for description. We will also develop our knowledge of conjunctions. During our reading lessons we will explore Five Minutes Peace by Jill Murphy and Meisha Makes Friends by Tom Percival.

Maths
In Maths we are learning about place value and we are exploring ways to make numbers to 100 using a variety of resources including base 10, place value counters and arrow cards. We will also be learning to count in 2s, 5s and 10s, order and compare numbers. We will also begin to solve mathematical problems.
