DESCRIPTION:We have organised a visit to the Eco festival (Cycling Event) at the Stourport  Stourport Sports Club cycle track and surrounding area 1.15 – 12.45pm. \nThe children will need to be able to ride a bike\, however bikes will be provided. \nIf your child is attending: \n\nPlease provide a drink and snack for this trip.\nPlease ensure that your child has suitable sports clothing for this trip (trainers\, jogging bottoms\, school green PE shirt and jumper with logo on)\n\nThe value of this trip on every child’s learning is significant. “Studies of adventure learning interventions consistently show positive benefits on academic learning. On average\, pupils who participate in adventure learning interventions make approximately four additional months’ progress.  There is also evidence of an impact on non-cognitive outcomes such as self-confidence.”

SUMMARY:Reception Educational Visit to Weston-Super-Mare
DESCRIPTION:Copy of Letter RE: Reception Class Educational Visit\, Weston-Super-Mare \n24.5.22 \nDear Parents and Carers\, \nAs you may be aware next half term\, learning in our Reception classes will be centred around the topic: What’s special about Summer? The core learning in this topic focuses on the \n\nsigns of Summer;\nidentifying similarities and differences between beach holidays in the past and present including clothing\, food\, activities;\nknowing that rockpools can be found at the beach and that they are habitats for sea creatures;\nknowing how to stay safe in the sun and at the beach including sun cream\, hat\, staying close to adults\, water safety.\n\nIn order to maximise on the cultural capitol for all our pupils\, and provide them with concrete conscious connections to scaffold learning in the above areas\, we plan to take our Reception classes to the beach at Weston-Super-Mare on Monday 20th June. \nChildren would need to arrive at school earlier than normal\, ready to depart at 8.30am. We would then return back to school for 4.50pm.  All children in Reception are entitled to a universal free school meal\, which on this day will be a packed lunch option. \nYour child will be required to wear appropriate clothes\, including a hat\, and bring a bag to carry a small towel\, a change of clothes (as we will be paddling)\, and a water bottle. Depending on the weather\, if they have a waterproof coat and this would be very useful. We will provide a clear list of items needed closer to the date of the trip. \nThere will be a charge for this trip of £18.00 payable by sQuid to cover travel\, all activities\, ice-lollies and complementary beach play equipment that the children will be able to keep. We have made every effort to keep the cost of this trip as low as possible and we appreciate your understanding that if we cannot cover the costs of travel\, we will reluctantly have to cancel the trip. Please could we ask you to complete the permission slip below with regard to photograph permissions\, lunch requests and first aid and return to your Reception class teacher by Monday 6th June 2022. \nThe value of this trip on every child’s learning is significant. “Studies of adventure learning interventions consistently show positive benefits on academic learning. SUMMARY:Gotta Sing!
DESCRIPTION:The Orchards School Choir will join local school choirs from across Redditch who will all be performing  a number of songs.  \nLetter sent previously: \nDear Parents and Carers\, \nThe Year 4 choir have been practising incredibly hard for their upcoming performance at Gotta Sing\, Redditch Palace Theatre on Wednesday 15th June. \nOn the day\, the children will remain in school. We will be travelling by coach to the Redditch Palace Theatre\, ready for a rehearsal at 5pm before the show starts at 7pm. Your child will need to have full school uniform with them for the day and needs to bring a packed dinner to eat at the venue. \nIf your child is attending Parkside Middle School for a transition afternoon on Wednesday 15th\, they need to return to school for 4pm in their full school uniform. \nFamilies are warmly welcomed to attend the show at 7pm as an audience member\, and tickets must be purchased through https://www.redditchpalacetheatre.co.uk/whats-on/shows/ – school is unable to book tickets for you. \nThe show will finish at around 9:30pm. You can choose to collect your child from the venue directly after the show\, or from school at 10:15pm. \nTo cover the coach costs\, we are asking for £8.60 per child which can be paid on sQuid. \nThe event will be recorded\, however will not be made public. We have requested for a password to be placed on our video and this will be shared with you after the event. \n  \nIf you have any questions\, please speak to Mrs Richardson.
